ELT

PROJECT: NEW 406MHz ELT

Maple arrived with an obsolete Ameri-King ELT and an expiring, impossible-to-replace ELT battery. What follows is the path I took to put the Ameri-King out of its misery with installation of a new ACK 406MHz ELT. I chose the ACK for its performance, ease of installation, and ability to add GPS location function to the system.

…the E04 is a solid value (Anglisano, 2010).
